Mother Mother at The London Music Hall, March 10th 2017

If you don’t love Mother Mother already, see them live and I promise you will. Last night, Mother Mother brought down the house at the London Music Hall with tight vocals, great instrumentals and a certain weirdness that sets them apart from the musical herd.

Prior to the show, we were able to get in for a meet and greet and two song acoustic preset. The band was really nice! They performed the songs Neighbour and Hayloft. I was blown away by the vocals of Molly, Jasmine and Ryan who sang polished and practically pitch-perfect. I’d never heard the song Neighbour performed live so that was a real treat too!

Onto the main event…

The best part of the night was perhaps the performance of "Hayloft" mashed up with Led Zeppelin’s "Dazed and Confused". A risky move but this one definitely paid off. I could listen to it over and over and over and over…you get it. From "Hayloft/Dazed and Confused", the band jumped head first into "Bit by Bit" to massive applause and from there, "Get Out the Way".

The band came out for their encore to searing appreciation from the crowd, commenting on the power of music to bring people together and the uniqueness of each person in the room (love when musicians get deep). They also took the time to thank the opening act, the crowd, their crew plus a slew of other people who don’t normally get thanked at rock shows (kudos!). Closing the show, Mother Mother performed fan favourites "Ghosting" and "Simply Simple". Simply put, it was an awesome show.

Peace, love & history.
