4 Musicians Flipping the Bird at Trump

It’s no secret that our south of the border neigbours have elected Donald Trump. With absolutely no political experience, a rich taste for stepping on those below him and promised policies that can only be described as racist and money-hungry, loads of people are angry. Others are standing up. While many musicians have taken to Twitter to speak against Trump, I wanted to point out three that have some serious balls in their protests against the new president. So here goes.

1. Tom Morello

Tom Morello has probably been the most vocal musician on Donald Trump. Bringing together a makeshift band called Prophets of Rage which consists of members from Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill, Tom Morello literally started the band for the sake of protest. The plan here is to “take the power back”. The height (so far) of Morello’s protest was his Anti-Inaugural Ball on January 20th where he managed to reunite Audioslave plus get several other artists like Jack Black and Jackson Browne to perform against Trump. That takes some serious cahonas.

2. Bruce Springsteen

Springsteen is one of those musicians who has spoken out from the very beginning. He’s also timely and up on his politics. He’s supported Women’s Marches in resistance, he’s called Trump a moron to Rolling Stone and recently at a concert in Australia, he condemned Trump’s immigrant ban, calling America a “Nation of Immigrants” (which it is for the record). Nobody has to guess which side of the fence The Boss sits on and that’s for sure.

3. Jack & Meg White (The White Stripes)

This is possibly one of my favourite protests against Trump ever. When Jack and Meg heard that Trump had used their song Seven Nation Army for his campaign, they were quick to react. They assured the world that they had never given him permission to do that and they were disgusted. They also took it one step further by creating these awesome Icky Trump tshirts (play on Icky Thump).

4. Eddie Vedder

Vedder doesn’t mince words when it comes to Trump. He’s been seen at women’s marches against Trump and last May in Toronto, he lamented how lucky Canadians were, telling us how we may need to build a wall to keep Americans out. However, the best Vedder quote I found were some lyrics he changed to sing “Fuck Donald Trump. It’s like his penis gets smaller every time he says huge. I like Hillary but I can feel the Bern.” (Found that on AlternativeNation.com). How badass is that?

What do you guys think? Did I miss someone?
