Each Thursday, I'll be sharing (at least) five tracks with you that I can't get enough of for the week. Sometimes they'll be new and fresh tracks and other times they'll be old favs (I'm not above sharing every track off Fleetwood Mac's Rumours album). Sometimes they'll reflect how I'm feeling that week about what's happening around me or the world in general, other times they'll be an escape from that.
That brings me to this week. This week the tracks are definitely more about escape from my thoughts rather than sitting in them. This week, Trump is being royally infuriating, speaking about death and destruction so completely non-nonchalantly it makes me sick to my stomach. This week, Australia is also on fire. Like, actually just burning up. Kangaroos, koalas, bats, birds and others are dying in such mass numbers that the existence of many species is legitimately threatened. With those two topics pretty much consuming most of my thoughts, I've been using these tracks to just shut my brain down a little. Do you do the same thing or just let those thoughts consume you? I flip back and forth.
