Catching a Breather with Eric Owen of Black Pistol Fire
Updated: Feb 2, 2020
Black Pistol Fire- if you haven't listened to this insane, intense, no-holds-back true rock n' roll band...it's about time. After releasing what was by far my favourite album of 2017 (Deadbeat Graffiti), this Scarborough-born duo toured their asses off, proving themselves one audience at a time. Whether they were the headliners or the opening act, there was no doubting which band would be remembered by the end of the night.
A few months ago I was given the chance to call up drummer Eric Owen and talk shop on all things touring, growing up and playing in bands with lead singer Kevin McKeowen and everything in between. Squeezed in between two phone calls Eric was taking from a low-cell-reception cabin between tour dates and all the while switching out his drum heads, it was clear that this guy knows hard work. He was also one of THE most genuine and down-to-earth people I've interviewed. Without further ado- thanks for listening!
Black Pistol Fire's next tour starts May 25th and you do not want to miss out! Catch this band while ticket prices are still reasonable just like the venue sizes. With three southern Ontario dates, is there really a reason to miss out? You can see a list of dates here.
Peace, love & history.
