Waging Heavy Peace by Neil Young (Book Review)

In his autobiography, Neil Young tells the intimate details of his life as a kid in Omemee, Ontario to a full-blown rock legend and let me just say- wow. As a long time fan of Young’s, I couldn’t help but be instantly taken in by this book. While the writing style is lacking at times, the content gives readers not only a narrative of Young’s life but a closer look at his ideas about peace, religion and even medicine. Fan or not, Waging Heavy Peace tells the story of a very intriguing life full of accomplishments and apologies. As a side note, the bit about Neil Young’s time in Yorkville in Toronto is particularly fascinating! It is most definitely worth the read.
